Note

Colonel of the Havana Militia and Major of Infantry in the Spanish Armies. Entered the Army as Sub-Lieutenant at age 7 on 28 January 1831 Regimiento de Infantería de la Habana. Inherited from Rafael de Quesada y Rosa de Arango, the Sugarmills “Desengaño”, the sugar plantations “La Rosita” y “Las Nieves” and vast extensions of land in Matanzas. Bought from the Carrillo family (his in laws) the Hacienda Guareiras in Matanzas (1865). He acquired a total of 125 caballerías, 160 cordeles, apr 4130 acres of land.
