Also enclosed is a leaflet promoting upcoming performances of Abbey associated plays in the Ambassadors Theatre, explaining that the survival of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin is under threat because of 'the curfew, and the other incidents of the state of siege at present existing in Dublin.'

Also attached 'notes for persons invited' Shields did not attend presumably because illness prevented him from travelling to Ireland.

The postcard features a photograph apparently taken by Barry Fitzgerald of two women in seated on a bridge. Elsie writes 'It was awfully wobbly sitting on this bridge, Will expected every moment to see us in the water.'
