Letter from Sean O'Casey, 49 Overstrand Mansions, Prince of Wales Road, S.W. 11 addressed to Arthur Shields regarding John Ford screen adaptation of 'The Plough and the Stars', writing before the film went into production O'Casey writes 'I of course know about the selection of E Crowe, F.J. (McCormick) and Will and yourself for work on the film.' he says of John Ford '[he] knows a grand deal about the B and Tans...he was over in Ireland then, he is a Galwayman. So don't worry.' He also writes 'Will you give my congratulations to Major Saurin on his recent promotion.'
